Abstract -Identity theft occurs when a person uses the means of identification of another individual to commit criminal activity. Americans of all demographics are potential victims of this crime. After looking at the details of this problem, it is apparent that the growth of identity theft can be attributed to various factors. Hence, a singular source is not to blame for the increasing problem. In particular, identity theft is not only a cryptographic problem, but an educational problem as well. - J. Gagne, M. Cunniff, Proliferation of Passwords, IQP Report (DOC)
Abstract -This report not only describes the problems we found with password creation and use but also our process for devising solutions to those problems. Working with knowledge acquired from literature and survey data, we analyze the problem of password creation and security. We then use our findings to create an informational pamphlet designed to educate the public on password creation and use.
